American Airlines (AA) will launch a daily service from Philadelphia to Budapest in its summer schedule next year, AA and Liszt Ferenc Airport operator, Budapest Airport said on Wednesday. The flights will operate between the 5th of May and the end of October. They will arrive in Budapest at 9.35am and take off for Philadelphia at 11.35am, arriving there at 4 pm local time. AA will use Boeing 767-300 aircraft for the service.
Starting next summer, direct flights will connect Budapest with three US cities. Polish Airlines LOT will fly between Budapest and New York and Budapest and Chicago from May 3. The last time AA operated a Budapest service was in the summer of 2011, between New York and Budapest. After the bankruptcy of Hungarian airlines Malév, the service was not renewed.
